In a world where polished poses and perfect snapshots dominate, the magic of candid photography comes from making people feel at ease and letting their true selves shine. Here’s how I create those moments—and why they matter so much.

1.         Comfort is key

The best smiles happen when people feel comfortable, so before I even turn my camera on, I focus (no pun intended) on making you feel like we’re just hanging out. Whether it’s a wedding, family shoot, or elopement, my priority is creating a connection and to make being in front of the camera a less daunting prospect.

2.         Let’s get moving

Staring at the camera is awkward; so let’s not do that. Instead, I’ll get you doing funny voices, chasing your kids, or dancing like no one’s watching (spoiler: I am, but in the least creepy way possible). These moments of interaction bring out unfiltered emotions and those spontaneous, golden moments that feel utterly you.

3.         The art of waiting

Patience is my not-so-secret weapon. I’m always on the lookout for those fleeting, in-between moments—a quiet giggle, a knowing glance, or that split-second where you completely forget I’m there. These are the moments you’ll treasure, and they’re worth every second of ninja-level observation.

4.         Using natural light

Forget the harsh flashes—I’m here for the natural light. Whether we’re outdoors chasing sunsets or cosy by a window, that soft glow works wonders. It not only flatters but also sets the mood for easy, carefree vibes.

5.         The magic of hand-editing

To be honest, this is one of my favourite parts of the job! I love curating and hand-editing to create a story, enhancing the natural beauty of the moment without overdoing it. Ultimately, my goal is to create timeless photos that feel as authentic as the day they were taken.

For me, photography is about more than just clicking a button—it’s about telling your story, quirks and all. If you’re ready to capture the real, unfiltered, beautifully imperfect moments that make life so special, let’s make some magic together!
